Rookie Goes for USAC Western States Midget Series Lead this Weekend (Ventura, CA).

Western Speed Racing’s Nic Faas goes for the lead this weekend (Ventura, CA) in the competitive USAC Western States Midget Series.  Nic will attempt to pry the lead away from the current leader. Considering he is being challenged week in and week out by drivers who have been racing midgets for several years or more, Faas’ first year in a midget is proving to be a wise decision by the Western Speed Racing team and sponsors (Toyota (TRD), Mobil 1, K&N).  Nic’s confidence has been bolstered with Western Speed Racing adding twelve more races, including Belleville High Banks and Calistoga Speedway. The thought: Win the series!

So how is Nic approaching the high expectations? In his own words, “Coming in to this year I knew I had to be competitive. The team and I appreciate the opportunity the sponsors have given us to go out there and showcase their names. Knowing you are competing for the championship makes it more fun for me.”

Nic Faas calls Huntington Beach, CA home and is a fourth generation racer whose great grandfather raced midgets in the mid to late 1940’s. Nic comes to Western Speed Racing with two years Focus midget racing experience where he won a 2006 and 2007 California dirt championship with multiple class wins. Nic has 12 state championships and 33 track records competing in quarter midgets. For more information please visit www.westernspeedracing.com or call (559) 266-RACE (7223).
